Now that school has started, it is a little harder for me to help in the bakery, but Mama says the most important thing is for me to get a good education. She says I can grow up to do anything I want, be anything—but, of course, what I want is to be a good baker like her and Papa! My abuela Rosa taught Mama many recipes when she was my age. Papa was always hanging around the bakery because his father worked at a restaurant down the street, so Grandmother Rosa taught him, too. Then they grew up and got married and helped her run the bakery. Now it is my turn to learn.
But maybe school will teach me new and better ways to bake!
